As absolutely crazy as my life is, I'm definitely the happiest I have ever been. Here is some of the amazing things that have happened to me in just the past few weeks (most in the past few days!)
This is my wonderful RA staff at our retreat at Coco Keys Water Resort in Omaha. As difficult as this job has been, I have learned and grown so much from it. I have such an amazing group of great young people with such bright futures ahead of them. I wouldn't trade the stress for anything.
On Thursday night we had a triple birthday party in Lincoln for Grant, me and Travis. I cannot get enough of this cutie. I was so happy to see all the nieces and nephews. Ryan and I miss them!
For the first time ever, I tried on my mom's wedding dress. She weighed 95 lbs. when she got married and seeing as how the last time I weighed 95 lbs was nearly 10 years ago, I just never got around to it. BUT, it magically fit!
Now onto the bragging... Ryan is... I can't even describe him. He's perfect for me and seems to do everything right. On Monday I got home from a day of work and class to find cheesy love notes all over my room. Many were in plain sight saying things like, "I love you," "I adore you," "You're the best fiance ever," etc. He also had four or five that he hid so I wouldn't find them right away. This one (sorry it's sideways) was in my bathroom with my makeup, etc. There was another in my dresser, my Book of Mormon, and so on. I could not wipe that goofy love-stricken smile off of my face!
On Friday I woke up and went to school to work on a group project. As usual, I forgot to eat and was getting light-headed. I asked him to please stop by the store so that in the future I could just grab a granola bar or something to tide me over. When I got home I found quite the array of snacks as well as a beautiful bouquet of flowers, perfectly arranged in my vase (not to mention a clean apartment)! He had also been helping one of my best friends, Lisa, move to her new apartment next door to me. So not only does his kindness influence me, he spreads it to those I love as well. What more can I ask for, seriously?
On Friday night we celebrated my birthday at Pearl's apartment. She made dinner for seven of us as well as a second Rainbow Chip birthday cake (my favorite). Now, Ryan does have a few imperfections (as seen in this photo). Pearl asked Ryan to bring candles and somehow he did not tie birthday and candles together. So after asking her what kind (she said bright and fun) he showed up with these...
After dinner we went swing dancing downtown where we met up with a few other people from the ward.
Saturday morning (my actual birthday) I went out to my car to go to a R.S. Service project and found this taped to my windshield. It was the first of 23 clues for my 23rd birthday that led me to our location for dinner as well as my birthday present!
In addition to the signs (that yes, are still hanging up in my room!) and scavenger hunt, he wrote me more messages on my mirrors. This one says, "Happy 23rd birthday! I'm SO in love with you. I'm so grateful our Heavenly Father put you in my life. I'll do everything I can to deserve you!"
And lastly, we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and then just cuddled up on the couch and watched one of our favorite movies, "The Proposal."
I am one lucky girl.
:)
